We seek dedicated and passionate Elementary Spanish Immersion Teachers to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Spanish in an immersion setting, with a proven ability to create culturally relevant and engaging learning experiences that reflect the richness and diversity of the Spanish-speaking world. Experience working with diverse student populations is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
I. Instruction & Curriculum:
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned Spanish immersion curriculum for elementary-aged students.
- Design and deliver culturally relevant and age-appropriate lessons incorporating various teaching methodologies (e.g., communicative, task-based, project-based learning).
- Utilize various instructional materials and resources, including technology, to enhance student learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of all students.
- Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative assessments aligned with learning objectives.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
II. Classroom Management & Organization:
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Establish and enforce clear classroom rules and expectations.
- Manage student behavior effectively using positive reinforcement and disciplinary strategies.
- Effectively utilize classroom time to maximize student learning.
- Organize and maintain classroom materials and resources.
III. Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives and events.
IV. Assessment & Reporting:
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments (tests, projects, presentations) to measure student learning and inform instruction.
- Accurately record and report student progress using school-approved methods (grading systems, report cards).
- Participate in data analysis meetings to review student performance and inform school improvement efforts.
V. Professional Development:
- Actively engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge in Spanish language instruction and elementary education.
- Stay current on best practices in Spanish immersion education.
- Seek mentorship and collaboration opportunities with experienced educators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Spanish, or a related field. (Master’s preferred).
- Valid teaching certification.
- Fluent in Spanish (oral and written)
- Must reside and work in the U.S.
- Ability to pass a federal-level background check, which may include fingerprinting
- Experience teaching Spanish to elementary-aged students in an immersion or dual language program is highly preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English (oral and written).
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to diverse learning styles and needs.
